The KS-144A is a precision-made metal spacer (shim) designed for the KUPA UP-200 / UG12 high-speed handpiece internal assembly. This spacer helps ensure correct internal clearance and alignment between rotating components, which is critical in a tool running at high RPM with tight tolerances.

Features

  • Maintains correct spacing and alignment of internal parts (bearings, rotor, housing) which helps reduce vibration, wobble or premature wear.

  • Helps preserve tolerance integrity in a high-speed environment—using a correct spacer ensures the assembly runs smoothly.

  • Being a small, inexpensive part, replacing it during servicing can prevent larger problems later.

  • OEM specification means correct materials and dimensions, avoiding issues that can come from generic substitutes.

  • Material: Copper (as listed in the parts catalogue under “Metal Spacer … Material: Copper”).

  • Dimensions:

    • Inside Diameter (ID): ~ 11 mm

    • Outside Diameter (OD): ~ 14 mm

    • Thickness: ~ 0.1 mm

  • Application: Internal spacing in the UP-200 / UG12 handpiece—ensures components are correctly seated and aligned.

Installation Tips

  • Confirm that your handpiece’s parts list shows #KS-144A for the spacer location.

  • Check that the seating surface and surroundings are in good condition—if other parts are worn or the housing deformed, replacing only the spacer may not fully restore optimal performance.

  1. Power off and unplug the handpiece, ensure it is fully at rest.

  2. Disassemble the front housing or internal section as necessary to reach the spacer location.

  3. Remove the old spacer, clean the seating area of metal shavings or residue.

  4. Insert the new KS-144A spacer, ensuring it lies flat and is properly oriented.

  5. Reassemble the handpiece and perform a no-load test (no bit) at lower speed to check for smooth rotation and minimal vibration before full use.
