UP-200 Delrin Joint GAS-106
The GAS-106 is a precision-molded Delrin (acetal plastic) joint used in the UP-200 / UG12 series handpieces from KUPA. This joint provides a low-friction, wear-resistant coupling interface between internal rotating assemblies or between components where plastic-on-metal contact aids smooth operation.
Features
-
Low-friction interface: Delrin provides smooth operation between moving parts, helping reduce wear and noise over time.
-
Precision fit: Designed for OEM tolerances to maintain correct alignment of internal rotating components in the handpiece.
-
Durability: Plastic joint reduces metal-on-metal wear and aids longevity of both the joint and mating surfaces.
-
Cost-effective replacement: Rather than replacing larger assemblies, swapping in the correct joint can restore function for internal couplings.
-
Material: Heavy-duty black molded plastic (Delrin/acetal).
-
Dimensions: 11.73 mm length × approx 0.23 mm diameter.
-
Application: Internal coupling/joint piece in KUPA UP-200 / UG12 high-speed handpieces.
Installation Tips
-
Verify that your handpiece’s revision uses part # GAS-106 for the joint — older or alternate models may use a different joint or part number.
-
Inspect adjacent components (coupling surfaces, housing, bearings) for wear — if mating metal surfaces are damaged, simply replacing the joint may not fully restore performance.
-
Disconnect the handpiece from power and ensure it has fully stopped before beginning any disassembly.
-
Disassemble the section where the joint is located as per the manufacturer’s guide (front housing or internal coupling area).
-
Remove the old Delrin joint, clean the surrounding area of debris, lubricant residue or metal shards.
-
Insert the new GAS-106 joint, ensuring it seats accurately and that mating surfaces are aligned and undamaged.
-
Re-assemble the handpiece and perform an unloaded test (no bit) at low speed to check for smooth operation, absence of abnormal noise or vibration, before returning to full use.
