This is an OEM-specified PTFE (Teflon) washer/spacer designed for high-speed internal use in the KUPA UP-200 / UG12 handpiece line. It serves as a low-friction spacer or washer between rotating or sliding internal components, helping maintain alignment, reduce wear and enable smoother operation.

Features

  • Low-friction interface: The Teflon material helps reduce internal drag between moving parts, thereby improving the smoothness of rotation and reducing heat/ wear.

  • Precision spacing: Ensures correct clearance in high-speed rotating assemblies—improper spacing can lead to vibration, bit wobble or premature bearing failure.

  • Durability & longevity: Using a proper material and correct dimension part helps the tool maintain performance and lifespan.

  • OEM compatibility: Matching the manufacturer’s part (KS-601) ensures correct fit, dimension and material—reducing risk of substitution errors or fit issues.

  • Dimensions:

    • Inside Diameter (ID): ~ 3 mm

    • Outside Diameter (OD): ~ 10 mm

    • Thickness: ~ 0.2 mm

    • Material: Teflon (PTFE) — chosen for its low friction, wear resistance and suitability for high-speed tool internals

    • Application: Spacer/washer for internal assembly in the UP-200/UG12 handpiece series.

Installation Tips

  • Verify that your handpiece’s parts diagram or revision uses part # KS-601 (since internal revisions of the handpiece may alter part numbers).

  • Inspect the current washer’s seating area: the shaft, bearings and housing should be free of significant wear or damage. Replacing the washer alone will not resolve larger misalignment issues.

  1. Disconnect power and ensure the handpiece is fully stopped before servicing.

  2. Disassemble the relevant portion to access the washer location (likely in the front/spindle or bearing area).

  3. Remove the old Teflon washer/spacer, clean the seating surfaces and remove any debris or metal shavings.

  4. Install the new KS-601 washer ensuring it lies flat and fully seated.

  5. Re-assemble the handpiece and run a no-load test (without a bit) to check for smooth operation and absence of abnormal vibration before full use.
