UP-200 Clip Ring KC-081S

The KC-081S is a precision copper clip ring designed for the UP-200 / UG-12 high-speed handpieces. This ring functions as a retention component, securing specific internal assemblies (such as bearings or rotor elements) in place under rotational stress. The clip ring helps maintain accurate axial position of rotating parts, which supports smooth operation and helps prevent vibration or performance degradation.

Installation Tips

• Confirm the handpiece uses part # KC-081S (check your parts diagram or existing ring).

• Inspect the groove or seating location where the clip ring installs — damage or wear in that groove can compromise how well the ring can secure the component.
  

1. Power off and unplug the handpiece; allow it to fully stop.

2. Carefully disassemble the front housing or relevant section to access the clip ring location.

3. Remove the old clip ring using appropriate tools (snap-ring pliers, etc.), being cautious of small components or springs.

4. Clean the surrounding area of any debris or metal shavings.

5. Install the new KC-081S ring, ensuring it seats fully in its groove and that the retained component is properly seated.

6. Re-assemble and run a no-load test (no bit) at low speed to confirm smooth operation and absence of abnormal movement before returning to full use.
